Kathryn and Liza’s Kitchen Best friend

The kitchen used to be a scary place for young people and cooking was a daunting task reserved for mothers and household helps. But technology played a role in guiding people around the kitchen. Nowadays, new cooks search online for cooking videos or check out “food hacks” to be able to produce any dish they want that they can, in turn, show off on social media.

lizkatv1

Young celebrities Kathryn Bernardo and Liza Soberano also enjoy cooking for their loved ones. They are the newest tandem to endorse AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning. Apart from what can be found in the Internet, Kathryn and Liza became more confident cooks because they can rely on a brand of seasoning to make delicious home-cooked dishes by bringing out the natural goodness of food. Experienced cooks or kitchen newbies can make AJI-NO-MOTO® their best friend in the kitchen – an ally in serving nourishing and enjoyable dishes for the whole family.

The new AJI-NO-MOTO® TV Commercial features three (3) dishes to show the versatility of the product in making all kinds of dishes delicious. Among the dishes are the Omurice, a Japanese-inspired meal composed of rice and omelet, Kathryn’s Adobong Puti recipe, a different take on the classic adobo without soy sauce and the all-time favorite comfort food Beef Nilaga.

AJI-NO-MOTO® can be widely used in a variety of dishes because it has no smell or specific flavor of its own and can therefore be used to enhance the original flavor of food. This is a safe and quality product that is made from natural crops like sugar cane, corn or cassava and manufactured through the natural process of fermentation. AJI-NO-MOTO® enhances taste of food by providing umami taste. Umami is the fifth basic taste also described as rich, savory and ‘malinamnam’ derived from food rich in glutamate like tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, ham and seafood.

Mommies, do you have your own AJI Recipe to share? 🙂

Our Vita Cubes 2 Good Vita Experience

Vita Cubes wasn’t new to our ears. We, – yes we, I am guilty – first had a taste of these cute cube-shaped jellies from another event as a FREEBIE. When I saw it from the loot bag, I got pretty curious and opened it. Upon seeing the jellies I was like – eewww, I don’t like this! yes mommies I don’t like jellies – BUT upon checking the label and saw that it is a vitamin, I said, REALLY? This might be good. So I took one and to my surprise, it isn’t bad after all! 🙂

My son who was fond of jellies saw it, took the package from me and tasted it! And he really LOVE it!

Last October 22, we were so lucky and got invited by Vita Cubes to attend their special event at BGC Active Fun. 🙂

Raix and I were soooo excited!!! I am excited to meet mommy bloggers while of course the little one was excited to play and have lots of FUN!!! As soon as we get there, here’s what we did! 🙂 PICTURE! PICTURE!

We were greeted by these. A CAKE BOOTH! 🙂 These were later on given to the kids to make and design the way they like it while mommies and daddies listened to a wonderful talk.

Here is his decorated cake and he just can’t wait to taste it! 🙂

All around the place are samples and a candy buffet for the kids and kids at heart.

Caught him taking some of the Candy Vitamins! Haha

There were also games, magic show, flip book photobooth and the food was superb! Our over-all experience was one of a kind! PLUS! We get to bring this loot home. Thank you Vita Cubes and Rebisco.

Nutri10 Plus = taller and more active Raix!

Fifteen years ago I became a mom to my eldest daughter. As a teenage mom I really have no idea what is the best for my daughter. One of the many things I had trouble with was deciding what vitamins should I choose for her. I asked my mom what she gave me before but some of it are no longer in stores that time. I thought “This is gonna be tough.” BUT, we get to give her a multivitamin that she liked and became ‘hiyang’ with it. And it went well with my second daughter too. They are active, smart and their height was just right for their age.

10 years later, I gave birth to my youngest and only boy. 🙂 He was so much different from the girls. He was very active, noisy and picky especially with his vitamins. I thought maybe when he’s a year old he can drink his vitamins without me mixing it with his milk. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I’ve tried a couple of vitamins but he really doesn’t like the taste. I even need to hide from him, so that I can mix his vitamins in his bottle of milk. If I get caught, he will never drink his milk meaning no vitamins for him that day. 😦 Skipping vitamins means being prone to sickness. A big NO-No to moms, right?

Luckily, we were given a chance to try this new vitamin, Nutri10 Plus. At first I thought Raix will ignore it, but as soon as it arrived he became really interested and was eager to try it! I don’t know if it was because of it’s packaging’s bright color or just simply because it was new. He tried it and WOW! he definitely LIKED it!!! I was really surprised and checked what made it so yummy to him that he even wants another spoonful!

Can you imagine that?! All of these in just a single bottle! No need to have your kid drink 2 -3 different kinds of vitamins a day just to get all the vitamins and minerals indicated above. PLUS it’s yummy PONKAN Flavor will definitely lessen your stress in thinking of ways how to make your child take his vitamins.

20160819_091023

The very first vitamins he LOVED! 🙂

It’s been a month since we started taking Nutri10 Plus, and the changes are all visible. On his first 2 days taking this his appetite was GRABE! He just had lunch, after an hour he wants to have another round of lunch. And his milk, I started to limit it to drinking only on mornings and before going to sleep, but now, he is asking for more rounds of milk even in the afternoon. Plus, a few merienda on the side, biscuits, chocolate drink, bread or cupcake. WHOA! That really is an appetite. 😉

Next that we noticed was him being MORE ACTIVE , MORE ENERGETIC, MORE IMAGINATIVE!  He is now active at school, wants to practice writing more and is no longer complaining that he’s tired already. Yup! He easily gets tired before. Hehe. Increased appetite although I don’t have difficulty in feeding him before, it’s just that before there are times that he doesn’t like to eat rice in a day. Another PLUS is that he is more creative and imaginative when playing. Especially that he plays by himself most of the time because everybody around him is busy with work and other stuff. But I admire him as I watch him play and be like a gardener for today and a robot tomorrow.

Above are just a few pics of him at school and at home. Active in studying, playing and eating. 😀

Another good thing I noticed is that since he started taking Nutri10 Plus is that he now has stronger immune system. He didn’t catch any colds or flu yet and never had fever since we started taking this. Now that will definitely be a PLUS and a good relief to moms everywhere.

We are definitely sticking with Nutri10 Plus as his buddy for years. To aid him to become MORE AKTIBO’T MALAKAS!

To mommies out there who are having a hard time with feeding time or with drinking vitamins or if your child seems to be lifeless and inactive at school, why not try this. You’ll definitely love it. Feel free to share and comment below your experience with Nutri10 Plus.

TMNT Out of the Shadows

Since I was in my elementary days I am an avid fan of four awesome green heroes who loves pizza. These ninjas were my idols ever since. From Leo’s leadership, Donnie’s intelligence, Mikey’s goofiness and of course Raph’s aggressiveness. The last time I was able to watch them in television was year 1996. When these green guys are back in screen by 2003 I introduced them to my girls, just like me they loved them! Luckily hubby also likes these half shell heroes. 🙂

The return of these turtles by 2012 in NICKELODEON was timely to me having a little boy. And yes, they are one of his favorite TV characters. He likes them all especially Raphael. When asked why, “Because he is strong!” Haha

Last 2014, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures released a reboot movie entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The clip our family liked the most was when they were in the elevator and performed a short rap. 😀 My little boy even asked me to have it downloaded in his tablet. That movie was his favorite for almost 2 months!!!

This 2016, we got really excited as they released a sequel entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. We definitely wouldn’t miss watching it in the big screen.

Luckily for us, as we checked Nick-asia.com, they were giving away FREE tickets for 4, for the Premier Movie Screening. And yes, we WON!!! Woot! Woot! The kids were so excited and can’t hardly wait, oh well,  OK, I admit, I was MORE excited than they are! 😀  But then as we were still overwhelmed by winning the tickets, I got a word from Richprime Global Inc. that on that same day, they, together with Nickelodeon and Toy Kingdom will launch an unveiling of the Turtles. Who can get luckier than we did. 😉

On June 1, 2016, the Mall Atrium at the SM Mall of Asia was turned into GROUND ZERO NEW YORK. It was like you really are in New York. They set up a maze for the kids, and a small obstacle race track.

13987813_1102374326510137_1675118898_o14037741_1102374436510126_140919087_o14002326_1102374379843465_425763550_o13987122_1102374376510132_148317999_o14037960_1102374456510124_832705138_o

There was a short trivia game for the Ninja Turtle Fans. My little boy get to win a prize too. 🙂

There are also merchandises up for grabs, shirts, action figures, even plushies! So cute!

14045072_1102374303176806_247774338_o14037485_1102374269843476_1794409790_o14002364_1102374333176803_1453138766_o

At the other side, they placed a mini-game for the kids. The Laser Lockdown Challenge. It was a dark room with lasers. Kids need not to touch or get hit by the lasers in order to get outside. I wasn’t able to get inside, – too many kids inside – and taking pictures inside with flash will ruin their playing experience. 🙂

BOLDER. BIGGER. BADDER.

It was like the real thing!!! They are really huge! People just can’t get enough and took their selfies & groufies with these life-size turtles.

After much excitement from the big reveal, next stop was the cinema. As we fall in line to claim our tickets, we were greeted by a bunch of ninjas. These ninjas are very friendly and talented. They danced, performed a few tricks and allowed kids to have their picture taken with them.

The best part aside from the movie were the FREEBIES!!! Popcorn, candies, chocolates PLUS games for kids! It was so much fun! 🙂 The movie was GREAT! My little boy got hooked on it. I was amazed at how he got to understand the movie. Maybe it was just because these TURTLES really amazes him.

Once again, thank you so much to Nickelodeon Asia for the movie ticket give-away and Richprime Global Inc and Toy Kingdom Ph for the activities during the TMNT Unveiling. Cowabunga!!!

Mommy Milkshare Event Set to Benefit Fabella Milk Bank

It’s a well-known fact that breastfeeding is best for babies. The World Health Organization states why it is so on their website, and also emphasizes that breastfeeding benefits the mothers who choose to breastfeed their babies.

The reality is, though, that some mothers might not be able to breastfeed their children immediately after birth for legitimate medical reasons. There are also babies whose mothers may have passed away yet still need to be nourished with breastmilk.

In cases like these, milk donations or milksharing are usually the solution. It should be noted, though, that donor milk should be screened as much as possible, to ensure that it is safe and clean for the babies who will receive it.

If you’re a breastfeeding mom, or a mom who believes in the importance of breastfeeding, you will probably also consider milksharing or donating one’s breastmilk to be a noble endeavor. Here in the Philippines, human milk banks are actually always in need of breastmilk donations, so it is good to be aware of efforts to collect human milk – like the upcoming “Mommy Milkshare” event organized by The Parenting Emporium and Honeysuckle Philippines (which is actually on its second run; the first run was held in September last year.)

Scheduled for August 13, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Parenting Emporium (No. 29, 1st Street, New Manila, QC), breastfeeding mothers are invited to donate their excess breastmilk for the benefit of Fabella Human Milk Bank. Donors can choose to bring frozen breastmilk (must be expressed between June to August 2016) or express milk onsite.

In gratitude to the generous milk donors, VPharma’s Mega Malunggay, Mommy Treats, and Honeysuckle – brands that support milksharing – will be giving discounts on select items. Mommy Milkshare participants will also receive loot bags as a “bonus” for their kindness, which is why they are also asked to register for the event via 0917-8110821.

13641127_1015960971855289_6301598569431994827_o

So, if you are a breastfeeding mom who wants to share her “milky blessings,” head on over to The Parenting Emporium this Saturday! Your efforts and kindness will help many babies who are supported by Fabella Human Milk Bank.

Note: If you want to donate breastmilk but can’t come to Mommy Milkshare, you may contact Nurse Katrina of The Parenting Emporium at 7253723 or 7386272, and ask how to donate to the TPE Milksharing Hub.

A book to sleep: Diego and Marie

Our second blog entry for A Book to Sleep. This time we read a book from Adarna House. 13720584_1081133035300933_66489231_o I got this book as a giveaway from our previous event with Educating for Life, it is a group that promotes homeschooling. 🙂

This book is actually for children ages 6 and above, but since we read his old books over and over, I thought I can read it to him at least for a night. (We read this almost a month ago.)

This book will bring your kids to 5 different places.

The characters of the story are Marie (a cat) and Diego (a goat). These two are close friends. The story begins as this two starts to play a guessing game. Marie thought of a place that Diego will never ever guess. Marie tells Diego that this place is warm and cozy. Her friend’s first guess was the Restaurant’s Kitchen.

13692148_1081133021967601_1541220685_o

He told Marie that is the warmest place he had ever been. But Marie said that it’s not that place, the kitchen is way too hot. Next clue she gave was that it has a bell-ringing sound. Diego thought of a place he’d been with a bell-ringing sound. And he led her to it.

13728333_1081133011967602_1547502276_o

Diego brought Marie to the church because it has ringing bells! But, he was still wrong. The church’s bells rings too loud, and can’t be Marie’s home.

13694208_1081125548635015_124608371_o

Diego said that the game was too hard. Marie gave him another clue. It is warm, has a bell-ringing sound and is covered with hair. (‘Can you imagine now what’s this place?’ ) 😉

Next stop is the Barber Shop. Diego said that it has chimes that rings and blowers that heats and there are hairs on the floor.

13692257_1081125531968350_1758318885_o

Still, Diego’s answer is wrong. Marie told him that her place has white hair not black. She gave her last clue — it gives her milk!

Diego finally knew what place he is guessing. He showed Marie the ice cream cart in the street. Diego said that ice creams have milk and the sweetest. It also has a bell that rings. But no warmth and white hair.

13728444_1081132995300937_1121742655_o

Finally, Diego gave in. He can’t seem to guess a place that has milk, warmth, white hair and a bell that rings. Marie gave Diego one last clue. This place smells exactly like her.

Diego smelled her and said Marie smelled like powder. Just then his nose caught the same smell. A mommy cat slowly came by.

13699342_1081132988634271_239503528_o

“A place can also be a spot like the arms of mom!”

This story will bring your kid around the community as they use their five senses. The sense of sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch.

Raix enjoyed the story. We read this for almost a week and not only before going to sleep. 😀  He was pretty attached with the barber shop. Which also helped me to convince him to have his hair cut before the start of classes.

Mommies, for the whole story you may go check this Adarna Book on any local bookstores. Till our next book to sleep.
